Tyler Perry's upcoming movie "Good Deeds" has joined a new initiative to support Covenant House, a non-profit organization that provides for homeless youth.

Good Deeds: Great Needs and GiftCardGiver.com teamed up and will be collecting unused gift cards and donating them to Covenant House. In addition, Lionsgate will be making a financial donation to Covenant House for every share of the "Good Deeds" trailer.

The Christian Post spoke to one of the star actors in the film "Good Deeds," Brian White, who said working with Tyler Perry was a pleasure.

"Tyler is a great person, it was a joy to work with him and I really admire him," said White of the actor, producer, and director, Tyler Perry. "It was easy to play his brother because I consider him a third brother to me."

White plays Walter Deeds, the brother of wealthy businessman Wesley Deeds (Perry). Wesley seems to lead a perfect life with a successful company and a beautiful fiancee when he meets a poor, single mother who works for the cleaning crew in his office.

The chance encounter with the down-on-her-luck employee sparks a realization and courage in Wesley to change his life for the better.

"It's a cautionary tale, does it matter what other people have?" said White as he continued to explain the film's premise to CP. The actor also divulged the message he hopes "Good Deeds" viewers take home as being "try something new."

"As a society, we can only climb as high as our weakest link," White said. "Try something new for someone else, challenge yourself."

Stars such as Thandie Newtow, Rebecca Romijn, and Gabrielle Union join Tyler Perry and White as members of the uplifting movie's cast.

"Good Deeds" hits theaters on Friday, Feb. 24. In watching the trailer at GoodDeedsMovie.com, viewers will help raise contributions to the non-profit organization Covenant House.

White is also involved in his own charitable organization Black Carpenters, which is a positive program for youth development.
