Alligator hunter and History channel's "Swamp People" star Mitchell Guist was found dead on Monday.

Guist was reportedly out boating along the Bell Rider when he "fell," according to TMZ. It is believed that he suffered a seizure. Another boater reported the emergency after docking the boat and calling 911. Emergency personnel arrived and transported Guist to Teche Regional Hospital nearby, but he had already died.
The reality star died after someone tried to revive him with CPR, law enforcement told TMZ.
Recently, Guist had increasing problems with his health. Officials will conduct an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
The inhospitable lands of America's largest swamp host many descendants of French refugees who were forced out of Canada centuries ago and settled in the harsh environment. Known as Cajuns, the resilient inhabitants are featured on "Swamp People."
Guist appeared on the reality series alongside his brother, Glenn. The show follows the alligator hunters as they endure storms and wade through the marshes. The brothers are known to hunt on the Conway Bayou where they once sought a prehistoric fish called alligator gar. The brothers are often faced with challenges such as floods, damage to their home, and hunger.
On Twitter, "Swamp People" fans are responding to Guist's death.
"Sad to hear the death of Mitchell Guist from Swamp People," posted Doug.
Zack wrote, "My favorite person on Swamp People, Mitchell Guist, died over the weekend."
"Nooo," wrote Bryan in response to the news of Guist's death, while Twitter user George wrote "Mannnn."
"Loved him and Glenn," posted Steve. "Condolences."
"Swamp People" airs on the History channel Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST. The reality show set in Louisiana has entered its third season.
