Cher made waves with an off-color comment about her late ex-husband Sonny Bono during an online Q&A this week.

The 67-year-old singer responded to fans' questions via Facebook on Thursday, including one that asked what she would tell Bono if he were alive today.

"How hot is it where you just came from," Cher quipped in her reply, insinuating that her late ex-husband was in hell.

Consequently, the reply has garnered over 9,300 comments on the social media site, with fans offended by Cher's remark.

One Facebook user commented, "Isn't that rude? CHER, the real diva-queen."

Another reader, Sam, posted, "I know, I was shocked at her answer. I thought she would say she misses him instead."

Bono died at age 62 in a skiing accident in 1998, 23 years after he and Cher had been divorced.

Despite their divorce, it was not the first time Cher had negative things to say about her ex-husband, with whom she sang the famous ballad "I Got You Babe."

"Stardom made Sonny a huge womanizer," she told Parade magazine back in 2010. "One woman, or even five, was not enough for him. I found all this out afterward. I asked him, 'How did you manage the logistics?' I was trusting and faithful with him. The truth is, I'm not sure we should've ever been husband and wife."

Nevertheless, later on during Thursday's Facebook Q&A, Cher admitted that she did have fond memories of Bono.

"Do you miss Sonny," one Facebook user asked.

"I think about him a lot sometimes," the superstar singer replied. "There are things about him that I miss."

Meanwhile, Char appeared on Monday night's episode of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" where she performed her smash hit "Believe" and served as a guest judge. Watch a video of her performance here.
