A new ROM that allows Samsung Galaxy S2 owners to use Android 4.1, JellyBean on their device has been released, but not without its fair share of bugs.

The ROM, known as CyanogenMod 10, brings Google's latest operating software to the wildly popular device.

Its developers have only released a very early build of it that has a reasonable number of bugs and issues mainly with the audio, according to YouMobile.org.

Instructions to install the update on the Galaxy S2 can be found here, however using it will void the owners warranty on the device.

Some tech publications have deemed the S2 not fit for JellyBean, however, other users of the device see no reason why the software will not be compatible with the former Samsung flagship device.

The official Android 4.0.4, Ice Cream Sandwich update is now available for AT&T's Samsung Galaxy S2, and S2 Skyrocket.

AT&T and Samsung began rolling it out last week, and it seems to run smooth and bring some exciting new features to the smartphones.

The update was issued over the air. Customers had to access it using a computer and Samsung Kies software.

The program used to update the firmware is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7 and Mac OSX 10.5-10.7.

Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich launched on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in November of last year and is available on a slew of other devices, including the new Galaxy S3, HTC One X, One V and One S.

The software introduced some new features to the Android platform, including the improvement of the folders, contacts and widgets, along with a new graphics interface named Roboto and the ability to use Panorama on the camera.
