The electronics giant will bump up the phone-tablet hybrid's screen size to 5.5-inches, and will be unveiled at IFA 2012 that is due to start on Aug. 31 in Berlin.

The report also states that the Galaxy Note 2 will come with a quad-core processor and a 12-13 megapixel rear camera. And even though Samsung will enlarge the screen on the device, the size of the new Note when compared to the original will be the same. GSMArena heard this same thing from a source not too long ago.

The Galaxy Note 2 is expected to be unveiled in August of 2012, however, device will not be officially released to the public until October. Many reports from various publications have already indicated that.

Other rumors have alluded to a September release. This earlier launch would help Samsung get a head start on its biggest competitor, the next-generation iPhone. Another rumor stated that the new Note will feature unbreakable plane technology making the device's display indestructible.

The device was also recently confirmed to be in the works by Samsung.

Samsung Arabia took to its Twitter account last month and announced a few different devices that included the Galaxy Note successor.

"Which one of these are you excited about #GalaxyBeam #GalaxyTab2 #GalaxyNote #Poll," tweeted the company.

The original Galaxy Note launched towards the end of 2011 and went on to be one Samsung's most successful devices.

The Note combines the best of both tablets and smartphones while adding its unique stylus, the S-Pen, that can be used by the exclusive apps created specifically for the device.

The new model is expected to resemble the recently released Samsung Galaxy S3, and will feature Android 4.1, JellyBean.
