Samsung could be unveiling the Galaxy Note 2 on Aug. 30, according to a recent report from DDaily.

The publication is reporting that the company will hold an "Unpacked" event at this year's IFA on August 30 where it will give the public a first look at the successor to the Galaxy Note smartphone-tablet hybrid.

DDaily even stated the exact time and location of the unveiling, saying that it will take place at 7 p.m. in Berlin and that the device will not feature an unbreakable plane display, contrary to a previous rumor.

A report from MK Business News surfaced last week that also revealed Samsung's plans to unveil the device during this year's IFA.

The electronics giant will bump up the phone-tablet hybrid's screen size to 5.5-inches.

This report stated that the Galaxy Note 2 will come with a quad-core processor and a 12- to 13-megapixel rear camera. And even though Samsung will enlarge the screen on the device, the size of the new Note when compared to the original will be the same. GSMArena heard this same thing from a source not too long ago.

Even though the Galaxy Note 2 is expected to be unveiled in August of 2012, the device will not be officially released to the public until October. Many reports from various publications have already indicated that.

Other rumors have alluded to a September release. This earlier launch would help Samsung get a head start on its biggest competitor, the next-generation iPhone.

The device was also recently confirmed to be in the works by Samsung.

Samsung Arabia took to its Twitter account last month and announced a few different devices that included the Galaxy Note successor.

"Which one of these are you excited about #GalaxyBeam #GalaxyTab2 #GalaxyNote #Poll," tweeted the company.
