Randy Moss has announced that he wants to return to the National Football League.

In an online chat held Monday, he told fans, "I want to play football. Your boy is going to come back here and play some football, so I'm really excited. I had some things I had to adjust in my life."

Moss has played for various teams during his 13-year career. He started with the Minnesota Vikings before being traded to the New England Patriots; he briefly returned to the Vikings before moving on to the Tennessee Titans. He announced his retirement in 2011.

"Randy has weighed his options and considered the offers and has decided to retire," said his agent Joel Segal. He retired to address family issues that he now says are resolved. Moss is the father of four: Sydney, Senali, Thaddeus and Montigo with girlfriend Libby Offutt.

"Faith, family and football, that's my M.O., bro. Your boy be back for the upcoming season," Moss said during the online chat. CBS reports that he retired with "954 catches for 14,858 yards and 153 touchdowns."

Moss earned several awards during his career, including AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Pro Bowl MVP, and being named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team. He has played in seven Pro Bowls and five All-Pro games.

Twitter users have commented on Moss' return and say that had he been a part of the New England Patriots, the team would have won the Super Bowl. "Pats missed a deep threat receiver. Should have kept Randy Moss," said Rob Teodosio. User El_Merve added, "I'm sorry that you feel the way you do about Randy Moss, but had he played last night it would have been different. Very, very different."

Moss has voiced his desire to play for the Patriots again, but he would have to enter the 2012 draft the same as a free agent like everyone else. There has been no word yet if plans are fully confirmed at this time or if Patriots coach Bill Belichick knows of Moss' intention.
