With news breaking that American Idol bosses may replace long time judge Randy Jackson with Mariah Carey, fans have been left stunned as the much loved, and at times hilarious judge, could be booted off the show.
The news could mean a complete revamp of the show's judging panel as Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, and Jennifer Lopez have already confirmed they will not be returning for the new season of Idol. Lowering ratings and contract disputes are thought to be the problem.
"They are in serious talks with Mariah and it's very close to being a done deal," a source told Us Weekly. "And they will move Randy into a more mentoring role."
