Anne Hathaway's ex-boyfriend has been released from federal prison Thursday and will be deported from the U.S., according to a new report.

The Italian businessman was incarcerated for 4-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to 14 counts of wire fraud, conspiracy, and money laundering in December 2008.

Ahead of his arrest, Hathaway broke ties with Follieri and later admitted that the ordeal caused her to be "more wary" of men. She had dated the businessman for four years.

Upon his release from a Pennsylvania jail, Follieri will be handed over to officials, who will then have him deported to his native country, according to The New York Post.

Follieri's representative said that his client was "focused solely on his education, charitable endeavors and physical transformation" while serving his sentence.

Meanwhile, Hathaway is engaged to actor Adam Schulman. The couple plans to marry sometime next year but is keeping mum on wedding details.

"They're keeping a secret until right before," said a source close to Hathaway, according to People magazine.

Speaking about her relationship with Shulman, the 29-year-old actress said her fiancée "ruined" her plans to stay single.

"We hit it off immediately, but it took us a pretty long time to get together," explained Hathaway speaking to the U.K.'s Marie Claire. "He thought that I had a boyfriend and I thought that he had a girlfriend, so I thought that I'd better keep my distance because I didn't want to be that girl."

"I'm very much in love with him," added the actress. "Only Adam totally ruined my plan. I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"

Hathaway will appear in "The Dark Knight Rises," which hits theaters July 20.

In addition to her breakout role in the "Princess Diaries" series, the actress is well known for her movies such as "The Devil Wears Prada" and "Valentine's Day."
