The highly anticipated sixth season of AMC's hit series "Men Men" has finally received an air date- April 7.

AMC also confirmed that the premiere would be a 2-hour event starting at 9 p.m., EST, according to Entertainment Weekly. Starting April 14, the television series will resume its usual 10 p.m. EST airtime.

Meanwhile, very little is known about what season six holds for Don Draper and the rest of the characters on "Mad Men."

In June, "Mad Men" stars Jessica Pare and Jon Hamm were spotted in Hawaii filming the sixth season.

Pare, 31, was photographed in character as Megan Draper while filming the beach scene. The French-Canadian actress wore a retro-style floral bikini to fit the 1960s setting of the television series. She paired the bikini with a wide-brimmed hat and round-lens white sunglasses.

Alternately, the show's main character Don Draper, portrayed by Hamm, wore vintage short paisley-print swim trunks while filming.

It is believed that the actors were filming the premiere episode for season six where the married couple take a vacation in Hawaii in order to work on their marriage, according to Daily Mail.

Matthew Weiner, who created the series, also serves as producer. The showrunner remained tight-lipped about season six while speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a past interview, only promising fans a good show.

"If you like the show, there's a good chance you'll like the premiere," said Weiner. "I is different than last year's in a sense that it was my idea and I was just trying to give a bang for a buck to an audience that I didn't want to lose because we'd been away for so long."

Weiner suggested that fans brush up on season five of "Mad Men," explaining that the entire new season "is in reference to last season."

As for the characters, they are "at the next stage of their lives and I think you really feel that," said the producer.

Also tight-lipped, Hamm, 41, defended the secrecy surrounding the plot of "Mad Men" in a past interview.

"What show wants to ruin their whole narrative structure?" the actor asked members of the press recently. "Who wants to be told the end of things? I think it's a good thing that like most shows we don't tell people what's going to happen."

Critically acclaimed "Mad Men" is well known for its historical authenticity and visual style. The series has earned 15 Emmys and four Golden Globe Awards, among many others, and is the first and only basic cable series to win the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series, winning it in four of its five seasons.

Actors Elisabeth Moss, January Jones, Christina Hendricks, John Slattery, and Kiernan Shipka also star in "Mad Men," among many others.
