The Kardashian sisters may be among the biggest reality TV stars in the world, but a new report suggests that this could very well change if their TV show ratings do not improve.

Kourtney, 33, and Kim, 32, first began starring in their E! reality TV spinoff show "Kourtney and Kim Take Miami" in 2009 and despite enjoying a ratings high for the first two seasons, the pair suffered a ratings decline in season three. For the first time in the history of the show, ratings dropped to 1.3 million viewers which is less than half of the show's peak, according to RadarOnline.com.

During the season one premiere, the show drew in an estimated 2.8 million viewers, and season two proved even more successful with a reported 3.7 million viewers tuning in.

Season three, which aired in January 2013 and is still airing, has reportedly experienced a decline in recent weeks, with the March 17 episode drawing in just 1.3 million viewers.

The ratings dilemma comes almost one year after the Kardashians signed the largest reality TV deal in history with the E! network, which broadcasts their TV shows.

The controversial family, which includes sisters Kendall, Kylie and Khloe, matriarch Kris Jenner, father Bruce and brother Rob are reportedly being paid more than $40 million to do three more seasons of their main reality TV show "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."

Some fans are now questioning whether the ratings decline is an indication that the Kardashian empire is crumbling.

In 2012, the famous family began losing fans due to Kim's 72-day marriage debacle and at one point, party promoters and elite business officials allegedly refused to work with them.

"I'm bored with them," said Manhattan publicist R. Couri Hay, who organized paid club visits for Kim in 2008 and 2010.

It was once reported that Kim was paid $600,000 for a New Years Eve appearance at TAO nightclub in Las Vegas, and now critics say those days are over.

"Kim Kardashian would be crushing to us ... I'd pay her $600,000 personally not to go to Red Egg," Red Egg restaurant owner Travis Bass said.
