Kim Kardashian recently defended reality television following ongoing criticisms from various celebrities who have openly questioned her fame.

The 31-year-old, who rose to stardom in 2007 following the release of her home made sex tape, currently stars in several reality TV shows which air on the E! Network and she recently explained that she is tired of not being taken seriously.

"It's always funny to me when people say that I'm famous for being famous. I think it's fascinating, because it's still entertainment, you know? It's fun to see the progression of that idea," Kardashian told V magazine.

"I'm not naive to the fact that I'm not a singer or an actress or anything like that. I've never claimed to be anything that I'm not. I think [reality] is still a new form of entertainment that was kind of an unexpected thing," she went on.

Kardashian then bizarrely compared reality TV to rap music before explaining her hopes of one day getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"It reminds me of rap music. When rap music first came out, people were like, We don't understand this, what is this, it's just a fad. But rap music is definitely here to stay, and I think reality shows have proven they are as well," Kardashian said. "But when something is newer, people don't really understand it."

The Hollywood Walk of Fame currently consists of over 2000 stars that are embedded in a Hollywood sidewalk essentially to mark the achievement of some of Hollywood's biggest and brightest stars in the entertainment industry. The monument is generally reserved for successful musicians, actors, directors, and producers, among many others.

"I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. So, of course I'm so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold," Kardashian said.

Various celebrities, like actors Jeremy Renner and Jonah Hill, have publicly condemned the Kardashians for what many argue is putting a price on their privacy to make a living.

"James Bond" actor Daniel Craig once referred to Kim as an "idiot" in a recent interview with GQ magazine.

"It's not about being afraid to be public with your emotions or about who you are and what you stand for. But if you sell it off it's gone. You can't buy it back- you can't buy your privacy back," Craig told the GQ magazine U.K.

"Mad Men" actor Jon Hamm also openly criticized Kim's fame and status in an interview with Elle magazine U.K.

"Being a f------ idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture. You're rewarded significantly. Whether it's Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated," Hamm told Elle magazine.
