Jennifer Lopez recently spoke out about her friend Tom Cruise's divorce from Katie Holmes amid reports that she is being replaced by Mariah Carey on "American Idol."

Lopez, whose father is a Scientologist like Cruise, separated from her estranged husband Marc Anthony in 2011 and admits that she can relate to the pain that both Cruise and Holmes are likely experiencing, according to "Entertainment Tonight."

"I heard about it when I was in South America and I was stunned! I'm sad for them. They're both really lovely people, and just like Marc and I, it's not what you want to happen. You fight and you try until you realize you can't anymore," Lopez told "Entertainment Tonight's" Mark Steines.

"You know I just wish them, you know, peace in their decision. And really for Suri and their other children as well, because you become such a family, it's not just Suri, it's Connor and Isabella and everybody, you know, you all become a family," she said adding that, "and when that breaks apart, nobody wins; everybody's heartbroken in some way. And I just wish them peace."

Lopez, an "American Idol" judge recently told the "Today" show's Natalie Morales that she is ready to leave the reality show but is still making up her mind.

"It's a heartbreaking decision if I have to go," Lopez told Morales. "I love everybody, I love [Randy Jackson, Steven Tyler and host Ryan Seacrest], but I am thinking it's time for me to go and do other things I love to do like films."

Steven Tyler, who was also a judge, announced Thursday that he is leaving the show and new reports suggest that "American Idol" show producers are ready to make drastic changes, which potentially includes replacing Lopez with Mariah Carey, according to Us Weekly Magazine.

"[Show producers] think they need to freshen everything up now," a source told Us adding "They are in serious talks with Mariah and it's very close to being a done deal And they will move Randy [Jackson] into a more mentoring role."
