iOS 6 rolled out to Apple device users yesterday and the software brings with it many new features, including the company's new Maps application.

This new app replaced Google Maps and is one of Apple's attempts to move on in the tech world without relying on anything made by one of its toughest competitors.

Google's U.K. Marketing Director Dan Cobley spoke with Bloomberg TV this week regarding Apple's new application and showed his support for his company's app.

"We believe Google Maps are the most comprehensive, accurate and easy-to-use maps in the world," he said to Bloomberg. "Our goal is to make Google Maps available to everyone who wants to use it, regardless of device, browser, or operating system."

Cobley also stated people on iOS 6 could still use Google Maps by downloading them or going to the Google Maps website, however, there is no Google Maps-related app from Google in the App Store except the Google Earth App.

iOS 6 also eliminates YouTube and brings some major upgrades to Siri, including the ability to get sports game updates, launch apps, tweet, and update Facebook status by voice.

The software also better integrates Facebook in the same way iOS 5 does with Twitter. iOS 6 also brings new phone app features, such as reminders to call people back, send messages instead of calling, and a DO NOT DISTURB feature that does not alert you with notifications.

iOS 6 will come pre-installed on the iPhone 5 and is available as an update for other Apple products. The software update is available on the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, and the new iPad. It is also available on the fourth and fifth-generation iPod Touch models.
