The quad-core smartphone to be unveiled by HTC currently known as the Endeavor will actually launch under the name One X, according to gadget blogs such as Pocket-lint, Slashgear and Pocketnow.

The HTC One X will most likely debut at this year's Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain alongside another HTC device known as the One S. This device once thought to be the HTC Ville will run a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and have a 4.3-inch touch-screen display.

There is also the possibility that both of these smartphones will feature Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich, but that is yet to be revealed by HTC.

The Economic Daily News first reported that HTC was planned to unveil a quad-core device at MWC; at that time it was known as the Endeavor.

"HTC will unveil Endeavor on February 26, one day before the opening of the 2012 Mobile World Congress in Barcelona," wrote the publication.

The device will be announced on Feb. 26, just one day before Mobile World Congress begins.

The HTC One X will be one of the first quad-core smartphones to hit the market beating other manufacturers such as Apple and Samsung to the punch.

Rumored specifications on the One X include a 1.5GHz Tegra 3 based Quad-Core processor, 4.7-inch 720p HD screen, 8-megapixel rear camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera, 1GB of RAM, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0.

Other features expected to be on the device include Beats by Dr. Dre audio experience along with the HTC Sense 4.0 user interface.

9to5 Google recently commented on HTC's move to release a device with a quad-core processor and its decision to partner up with Nvidia.

"HTC's move to Nvidia from Qualcomm for processing power is definitely interesting, wrote the site."HTC has been with Qualcomm exclusively for as long as I can remember, but Nvidia's processors should definitely do the job for HTC."
