"We are excited to confirm the Samsung Galaxy Note will be coming to T-Mobile!" tweeted the carrier.

T-Mobile could be referring to the current Galaxy Note that is slightly behind the curve in terms of specifications. But the carrier could also be reporting on the next-generation model that is expected to be released in the fall.

The original Samsung Galaxy Note combines the best of smartphones and tablets, and is available through AT&T. It launched at the end of last year and went on to become one of Samsung's most successful devices. The company has not confirmed plans to release a successor to the hybrid handset, but it seems inevitable given its track record in terms of sales.

Rumors of the Galaxy Note 2 began surfacing more and more in the past few weeks. The device is expected to launch later this year and will feature a slightly bigger display at 5.5-inches.

DDaily recently reported that Samsung plans to unveil the device at an "Unpacked" event at this year's IFA on August 30. The publication also stated that the event will take place at 7 p.m. that day in Berlin.

And even though recent rumors have pointed to the Galaxy Note 2 featuring an unbreakable plane display, DDaily reported that news as false.

Along with a bigger screen, many tech publications are reporting that the device will feature a 12-13-megapixel camera, a quad-core processor, and the same sized frame as the original model.

And even though Samsung will unveil the device at the end of next month, customers will not be able to purchase the Galaxy Note 2 until October. Various publications have already indicated that.
