The man who killed eccentric dictator Moammar Gaddafi might be a Yankees fan.

Mohammed El Bibi is being credited with capturing Gaddafi in his hometown of Sirte Thursday. The graphic and bloody pictures of the tumultuous end to a 42-year rule have been circulating on the Internet, and the man who is allegedly responsible for creating what is sure to be a day to remember for generations to come in Libya, was wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap as he made history, BBC News reported.

El Bibi, who BBC News says is in his 20s, also grabbed Gaddafi's golden gun and flaunted the trophy of his capture for the cameras as he was hoisted onto the shoulders of his fellow National Transitional Council (NTC) soldiers.

As El Bibi was paraded on the streets of Sirte, gunfire could still be heard throughout the town, the Daily Mirror reported.

Aside from the Yankees ball cap, El Bibi was also wearing a blue t-shirt that read "I Love You" inside a red heart.

One commenter on NYMag.com said, "A guy wears a t-shirt that says 'I love you' and wields a golden pistol, goes out and finds a dictator hiding in a hole? Is Quentin Tarantino writing the adaption for this yet?"

Some of the dialogue for the script has already been written; several media outlets have reported that Gaddafi’s last words before being captured by El Bibi were, "Don’t shoot! Don’t shoot!"
