In Los Cabos, the "Sk8er Boi" singer was photographed descending steps accompanied by a brunette female. Laughing, Lavigne is seen reaching toward her companion's breast.
The female appeared shocked but amused at the Canadian pop star's gesture, but another photo suggested even more. Lavigne, 27, was also spotted cuddling her female associate while laying on a beach chair. Arms intertwined, Lavigne cradled the unnamed friend's head on her shoulder.
Moreover, the duo was photographed hugging on the beach and entering the ocean arm in arm.
Lavigne ended her relationship with reality television star Brody Jenner earlier this year. The pair split despite having gotten coordinating tattoos. Jenner inked the letter "A" for Avril while Lavigne etched "B" for Brody as symbols as their devotion to one another.
Lavigne's recent photos have her fans talking.
"'Complicated' by Avril Lavigne will always be a favorite of mine," Twitter user Laura, ambiguously. The fan may have been referring to Lavigne's hit song "Complicated" or to the pop star's current love life.
"Ladies, you better watch your ta ta's around @AvrilLavigne," joked MTV on its Twitter account.
A petite blonde, Lavigne currently sports an unusual haircut where a side portion of her head is shaved.
Lavigne, who is renowned for her punk rocker image, once spoke about staying true to her image and refusing to sell out to Hollywood stereotypes.
"I have to fight to keep my image really me … I rejected some gorgeous publicity shots because they just didn't look like me," the singer explained, according to MTV News.
"I won't wear skanky clothes that show my booty, my belly, or my boobs. I have a great body," she added.
When she is not vacationing, Lavigne is said to be in the process of reigniting her singing career. The singer's last album "Goodbye Lullaby" was not as well received as fans anticipated.
