Customers obviously love the price tag on HP’s 16GB TouchPad tablet after the company applied the massive cut weeks ago, resulting in thousands of the tablets flying off the shelves over the summer. However, just because something is cheap does not necessarily mean it is quality.

How do the buyers and users of the HP TouchPad rate this in demand device?

“I’m an admitted mac guy, I have the iPhone 4, iPad, Macbook Pro, etc,” wrote D. Higgins on Amazon. “I have to share my support now with the HP TouchPad. The webOS 3.0 is really amazing.”

The reviewer goes on to describe the system’s perks including its ability to integrate so many mainstream services used today along with the flash player working well.

Another Mac fan was converted to HP by using the device.

“Previously, I was an iPad2 user and now that I have the TouchPad, I believe there is absolutely NO WAY I would go back to the iPad2,” wrote J.Destacamen on Amazon.

Some customers even thought the device had a shot at gaining a significant amount of market share.

“Yes, it is a real shame of HP to have discontinued the TouchPad with Web OS. Only if HP would have given the TouchPad the necessary support and time to mature into the market place of the tablet world, it would, really would have evolved into the kind of tablet that stands superlative to everyone else,” wrote user “The Great King ‘Louaa’.”

But it was not all good reviews for the HP TouchPad. Some customers expressed their disappointment with the device.

“The HP Touchpad is really sluggish compared to the iPad,” wrote Joseph Binotto. “The touch technology isn’t nearly as accurate as what Apple has developed.”

The HP TouchPad seems to have good reviews overall. Some customers do seem disappointed but for the most part it seems like a solid buy for $99, if it can be found that is.

Amazon is currently selling the 16GB HP TouchPad for $240 new.

With so many positives, this is a tough deal to compete with.
